View in Library Catalog

Very cleverly written. If you want to murder your employer and get away with it, you need to go to MacMaster to learn the best way to "delete" your target. The Maid
by Nita Prose

LOVED the narrator's POV in this murder mystery. Molly the Maid is invisible in plain site. Her literal interpretation and understanding af the world, along with quirky responses, leads her to be the suspect of a murder after a dead body is found in a room she's cleaning. The characters' voices and friendships built create a suspenseful, lovely story filled with reminders to us all to not ASSuME & judge books by their covers.

One Dirty Night

First half was very good, second half not so much.

Counting The Cost
by Jill Duggar

View in Library Catalog

First book (Libby listen) of 2024! I went through a hot second phase loving (being intrigued by) the Duggars over a decade ago, and love Jill's honesty and gwortj. Her story is powerful: how Christianity is twisted, what true faith is, creating boundaries, and a truly brave young woman. Also just wild to hear the sick behind the scenes.

No One Is Talking About This
by Patricia Lockwood

This was gifted to me, which was good because I wouldn't have bought it myself. It follows a woman who has fallen into social media fame, sucked into a materialistic, shallow culture and a tragedy that pulls her back into meaningful real life. There were some genuine and beautiful parts, but overall hard to read as it was a choppy (poetic?) style.

The Unmaking Of June Farrow
by Adrienne Young

This book follows June's journey as she unravels secrets and the mysterious "curse" that has haunted generations of women in her family. Amidst parallel timelines, my initial concern about the complexity dissolved as the narrative seamlessly unfolded. The captivating narrative gripped my attention, weaving a heartbreakingly bittersweet tale that promises an intriguing exploration.
